Causes and types of asylum in international law

Abstract

- The international community has begun to deal with refugee issues, with increased attention due to the growing number of refugees globally as people are forced to leave their homes and seek safety from persecution, armed conflict, and political violence. Protection has taken new forms, including material assistance, health care and education, as well as special programs for specific groups. The range of beneficiaries of protection has expanded to include refugees, internally displaced persons, returnees, asylum seekers, stateless persons and war-affected people.
- International protection has changed from a reactive to a comprehensive approach to refugees and forced displacement. While states have legitimate interests in controlling access to their territories, they also have international obligations to provide protection to those fleeing persecution
- The causes of asylum are numerous and can be summarized in this research in race - religion - nationality - belonging to a specific social group - political opinion - gender - as for the types of asylum, they are also numerous and can be summarized in this research in religious - regional - political - due to the deterioration of the environment and natural and industrial disasters.
