The position of international bodies on the issue of Western Sahara

Abstract

Our research in this study deals with the position of international bodies on the Western Sahara issue, in which we will present the position of the international governmental bodies and then the position of the international non-governmental bodies. From here we shed light on the positions of these bodies towards the Sahrawi issue, which is still before the international governmental and non-governmental bodies, international bodies have addressed the issue of Western Sahara from the perspective of decolonization in order to find a solution to the issue, achieve balance in the international system, and spread stability in the region. The Sahrawi issue was raised in international governmental organizations to find a peaceful solution that satisfies all parties to the conflict, as it was raised in the United Nations. The United Nations as the beginning of the conflict as it was a Spanish province at the time of the Spanish colonization of the region and the issue was of interest to the Commission. The issue was also addressed by the African Union and the League of Arab States in order to find a final solution to the existing conflict between the Polisario and Morocco. As for the international non-governmental bodies with their various orientations, their position is limited. Its role is through relief, protection and care for refugees.
